Pistons plan to play Boban Marjanovic, Henry Ellenson down stretch

Get ready for more of Boban Marjanovic and Henry Ellenson.

With four games left and the Detroit Pistons facing likely playoff elimination, Stan Van Gundy is ready to give the end of his bench an extended look.

Van Gundy confirmed the news Thursday after practice, saying potential tweaks to the playing rotation are coming. The Pistons play road games at Houston and Memphis on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

"We will still play our main guys, but we'll get Henry Wholesale Jerseys From China and Boban in there every night," Van Gundy said. "Every night."

You can include Michael Gbinije in there too, but an undisclosed illness kept the rookie guard from joining the Pistons on their flight to Houston. He did not practice Thursday and was inactive Wednesday in a loss to Toronto.

In total, expect a 10 or 11-man rotation in the final four games, Van Gundy said.

"I probably should have done it earlier," Van Gundy said. "We're still in it, but hell, we've lost 10 of 12, so it's not like we're rolling with the other guys.

"We probably should have been searching for alternatives before. So yeah, Henry and Boban will be in."

The move will mean fewer minutes for back-up center Aron Baynes, who has averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds and been one of the team's most influential defenders this season.

Baynes is expected to opt out of his contract and depart the Pistons after the season, and extended playing time would allow them to wholesale Nike jerseys evaluate Marjanovic.

Detroit signed the 7-foot-3 Serbian to a three-year, $21 million contract last summer, but he's played sparingly. In 31 games, Marjanovic is averaging 4.1 points and 2.9 rebounds.

Ellenson -- drafted 18th overall by the Pistons in 2016 -- has played even less. The rookie forward is averaging 1.4 points and 0.8 rebounds in 15 NBA games, instead getting most of his playing time with the Grand Rapids Drive of the NBA's Development League.

"I want to see those guys operate with our guys," Van Gundy said. "Some of the guys who have been playing a lot may have to take fewer minutes to get those guys minutes. But I don't want to just throw those guys out there as a group, 36 minutes a night. I don't know if they would learn what we would like them to learn.

"So, we will try to work our rotations so that we're out there with those other guys and sort of see how they fit into the picture."
